Tell me about it, how breathable is it and how waterproof? Are they too warm for wet summer days?

Cheers

Depends on what sort of wind stopper you get and made into what garment

I have loads of different ones all goretex windstopper, all brilliant in the right elements

If you've been looking at the jackets, the one that turns into a gilet is excellent.

I've got that one, great piece of kit. Good on its own when it's warm but wet outside too.

Yeah, I was looking at the jackets, needs something that is breathable, but also keep the rain out.

Windstopper is shower-resistant. It won't keep you dry when it's pouring down. I find anything waterproof is too warm for summer use, even though I've got Goretex Active Shell and eVent jackets! I've started riding with just normal kit and put a warm layer on when stopping...alright when pushing on but not on big group rides.

Cheers for the info D45yth, i really want something to keep the rain out, my old race face jacket did a good job without getting too hot.

D45tyh is right - the gore phantom is showerproof. I wear it throughout the winter with a merino base layer.

I was caught out in a biblical thunderstorm on Tuesday, and I wore a goretex paclite which kept me dry, and not too hot.
