Seems these are being off loaded now the forever chemicals are banned , so in other words better waterproofing. Are both of these jackets more designed for road riding rather than MTB ? I think the Torrent is a road version being a slimmer fit ?

I've got a torrent, it's great, but yes, slim fit - one of the few jackets I've had without flappy bingo wings going on.

It's also a long fit, the first riding jacket I've had with sleeves that go down to my hands - incredible scenes.

(I'm 6'4" in an XL for reference)

I ended up ordering a Spirit £56 to replace a almost 20 year old Wind stopper that cost me about the same!

I have got both purchased in sales but not as cheap as the current offers. The Torrent is a very waterproof roadie jacket with gorilla arms, the Spirit reasonable waterproof and much more suited to mtbing. In fact it is my main wear three seasons of the year.  A buy you won't regret. (Especially at that price)
