Trying to get my head around the different versions, I think the one I like the most is the C5 with the fluoro panels, but I don't want a baggy fit.

Buuuuut is the C7 so slim fitting that you couldn't get a layer underneath?

Guess I should find somewhere to try them on. What to the other slim(ish) 6 footers wear?

Ta

Mine is a C5 and while it's a looser fit than the C7 I certainly wouldn't call it a loose fit. I think it primarily comes down to whether you are going to use it as a race cape style jacket that spends most of it's life in your pocket for the odd summer shower or are you going to want to occasionally have a couple of layers on under it.?
I'm 6'4" but wouldn't call myself slim (my self image says more like retired rugby winger!). Main problem I usually have though is arm length and body length. The C5 has been perfect on both counts and is a good fit, and although it has a wee bit of extra room, it's nowhere near the kind of flappy 'boil in the bag' jacket you might be worrying about.

On a related note.. it's flippin' amazing, first rain i was out in with it on I nearly crashed into the guy infront a couple of times I was so enthralled by watching the water rolling of it.!! 😀

Great feedback, thanks.

What size did you choose? Chest measurement says XL but arm measurement says L. Certainly wouldn't complain about longer arms.

I guess most of the time it would be used for steady rides, so a bit of flappiness wouldn't be an issue...

I went XXL but I'm probably a bit bigger than you and have issues across the shoulders (I refer to my previous comments about rugby player self image delusion).
I would go with the chest measurement. As I said before the 'looser' fit of the C5 isn't anywhere near what I would call 'loose'.

Good, had assumed you might be 1 suze bigger than me, and yes, it's usually across the chest that I feel any restriction if something is too tight.

Excellent, combined wifey/family birthday present request sorted 😎

Just remember to keep your eyes on the road rather than being mesmerized by the wonder material.! 😛

How about the C7 Shakedry Stretch?

The stretch version seems to be consistently £75 more expensive, and even the discount prices I've seen on the C5 are my top end!

To help with sizing I'm 6' 2", 38" chest and 11st 5lbs and the large C5 is perfect for me.
In winter I wear a merino base layer and a windstopper jacket and the C5 is a perfect fit over those 2 layers, in summer over a light jersey it's obviously a bit looser but definitely not baggy would happily wear all day.
I've 2 minor criticisms, the zip pull in the rear pocket/stuff pack is not 2 way and it can be a pain to use when it's inside out and being used as a stuff pack - it's fine for pocket use.
The sleeve cuffs can be a bit of a faff to pull over thick/winter gloves, the cuff is half elasticated but it's still a pain - solution (for me) would be a small zip with storm flap underneath at the wrist which would make it so much easier to seal at the glove join.
All in all a great jacket but not quite perfect, would I buy another - yes but only at a sale price (got my current one for £150 about a year ago)

And I'm 42" inch chest with a C5 xl and it's "snug" but not too tight.

I bought a few of these -C5 I think - the one with the yellow sleeve & back panels & had to send them back as the sizing is all over the place & not as indicated in the sizing chart. I would order a range of sizes & send the ones back that don’t fit best. Mine is a bit loose but I want to be able to layer up underneath it. They are good though.....

I have the C7 - amazing fabric but at 70kg and 186cm I’d prefer more length in the body and slimmer cut in my Large. Maybe I should have bought the Castelli Idro that uses the same fabric.
