I bought a Shimano action cam. I wanted to use it for general recording duties on my commute. It comes with a helmet mount, but I'd rather a bar one.

I've never had a camera before, and I think I read it was a go pro mount.
But the pics of that seem to something with a knurled knob etc

This is what it looks like:

Is that a GoPro mount?

Looks like it 'might' take one of the sliding go pro mounts, difficult to tell from the angle of the photo. What does the helmet mount look like?

I got one of these at Xmas and want to mount it on the bars as well. You can get a few different mounts, I bought one in decathlon but haven't had a chance to try it out yet.
In decathlon it's "CO-NECT HANDLEBAR MOUNT"
PRO do one as well called "Camera Mount for Handlebar 31.8mm diameter"
or theres one you can mount centrally called "Tate labs the bar fly gopro mount" which you can get on merlincycles.com

looks like you want this kit: http://www.shimano-sportcamera.com/en/accessory.html

A go pro mount won't hold on the bit pictured as the go pro ones expand when they are slid in.

OK, I've had a look at the helmet mount and it is basically a gopro one with that ^ above

So, I can use part of that with a normal GoPro mount

Just unbolt the bit in the picture and connect it to various garmin mounts
