I initially wanted to replace the worn Race Face chainrings with the exact same ones, but they seem to be a bit of a rip off. I then thought about substituting them with Shimano XT M770 ones, but I hear that they don't fit properly out of the box and require some filing down (I don't really want to get into that) - will that be the case with all non-Race Face ones btw? So what decent and not too expensive aftermarket options are available???

Stupidity of chainring economics means if you want all 3 it tends to make sense to buy new cranks.

Sadly, the more research I do, the more what you're saying makes sense. Would seem like such a waste of a perfectly good crankset.

I've got an evolve outer ring from that era that's in pretty good nick, drop me an email and we'll sort something out

Thanks steve_b77, but I actually dropped the outer ring and I'm currently only running the middle and granny rings.

If anyones has any new 22t and 32t Race Face rings knocking around, preferably in black, then do get in touch.
