Can anyone reccomended me a good book (ideally audio book) which gives a good grounding in cycling training and nutrition? I want to build my knowledge in the hope It forms better habits! Also I’m embarking on some long multi-day road rides so need to get a bit more organised! Cheers
A good starting point is 'The Complete Guide to Sports Nutrition' by Anita Bean.
I read it a few years back but when I now read more recent articles on nutrition the Anita Bean book doesn't seem particularly outdated. Helped me get to grips with what, when and how much I should be eating to maximise my performance (before, during and after exercise). Made a positive difference for me.
The Endurance Diet by Mat Fitzgerald is pretty good (I think). Seems to make sense to me anyway!
The TrainerRoad podcast can be good for training and nutrition stuff. There are a LOT of episodes though! They obviously talk about their product quite a lot but they also cover training in general as well as talking about different nutrition strategies.
Each episode has a page on their forum, so if I want to learn about something in particular I usually just have a quick search on there to find the right episode.
I hear the Matt Fitzgerald books are pretty good - worth listening to a sample before you buy as his voice can be a bit much.
