Right, i've got myself a fully rigid bike for off-roading, and i'm planning on doing a few 24hr races on it. Can anyone recommend a decent one for no more than around £60?

Also, I used to mainly ride road bikes where suspension seatposts are a big nono because they just sap power, is this similar when using them on MTBs? And if so, is it so bad as to outweigh the comfort provided by them (considering we're talking about 24hr rides.

One more thing, how much do they move? I want something that'll take the edge of bumps but I don't want to be springing up and down on my saddle constantly.

Thanks guys.

Thudbuster. Its a parallelogram rather than telescopic so it moves back as well as down - keeping BB - seat distance the same thus reducing bob and wasted energy.

Yeah i've seen those, they are pretty expensive but no doubt they're worth it, may have to just get one of those if I can't find anything else a bit cheaper.

My Thudbuster feels very plush compared to my good old U.S.E. - I'd say it rides similar to a short travel XC bike. Try Getting 2nd hand one cheap to see if it suits.
