A female friend of mine has a lung disease that means her lung capacity is very diminished and will continue to get worse over the next few years, it's a downer. She has a ladies racer which she takes for little spins around Richmond park and short local rides which she has asked me to sell for her (ex boyfriend bought it and it has to go) and help find a replacement. I think she has every justification for getting an ebike but she would like a conventional looking bike if possible and I can't find anything.
Any pointers on ebikes that aren't super fugly. The only one I have found is this gtech but it's a crap bike http://www.gtech.co.uk/ebike.html?gclid=CMfVuPbJgs8CFUNmGwodwqIFAQ but it does look Okay compared to some of the others Ive seen..
Thanks

Tbh, anything where the battery is integrated into the frame or simply isn't mounted to the bottle cage mounts!

It's a Focus, Ton. From memory, it's still at the prototype phase as well.

Some of the new Scott Ebikes have a down tube integrated battery so they don't look too bad New 2017 Scott Ebikes

I like the look of the G-Tech effort with belt drive, but it's megabux

Depends what she's after. I quite the Moustache Lundi if you are after a city bike.

Isn't it £1000? And thus about the cheapest ebike going...

Yep. ShonkyShit best suited to being advertised in the Sunday papers. Oh, hold on....it is.

Raleigh or Haibike make the best budget options, but for the love of everything cycling, please, please, please don't buy a cheap e-ebike.

Here's my e fat bike, I like the look of it, and it always draws alot of comments.

Might not be what you call good looking though.

I like the look of it but i'd never consider partingwith the thick end of a grand for what to me looks like £400 worth of tech

Saw one of the spesh e-fatbikes in a US bike shop - they do a very passable impersonation of a "normal" (fat)bike. Not sure there's an adequate road-looking bike

I mostly came here to say "well played" to MrBlobby, though ! 😀

What kind of riding? Road? Utility? Hybrid? Shopping/Dutch? MTB? There's all kinds of pedelecs (and conversions) so what terrain/posture requirements does she have for proposed bike?

TBF OP said 'conventional looking'. Bottle battery looks like a water bottle. 'Integrated' generally looks futuristic/Terminatorish 😉

Personally I'd first look for the best tech and quality for my budget. Any bike is an investment and I'd rather ride a 'weird' looking bike that does what I need it to rather than begin at the aesthetic end of the decision process and risk ending up with a semi-pretty (e)BSO. I do like the look of the Spesh Turbo (spec + build + looks) for a general hybrid pedelec. Then I see the price-tag! If I too required one for health reasons I'd definitely consider overtime/selling stuff/begging/borrowing/zero interest etc to buy a decent one fit for purpose.

I was in an Intersport in Austria last week an there was an eBike that looked 95% like a normal MTB.
The motor was in the rear hub and the battery just made the down tube look a bit fatter. Should have taken a photo.
I think it was about 3000 Euro. Decent spec, Fox 32s etc. I could ask my friends to send some photos or I'll be back there in about 4 weeks.
