New bike for commuting and I need a nice powerful but descreet front light. Got a Knog blinder on the back and it's awesome. Usb charge and lasts ages. I've a topeak one lying around somewhere but I know it's as brightNess levels are pathetic.
See or be seen light? If latter, Wiggle have a deal on a Smart set - 25W front & 1/2W rear for £8.50. Add a puncture kit and you're at the £10 post-paid level.

For a decent light to see by, I'd recommend the Philips SafeRide. Shaped beam, so you're lighting the road, and not the sky/overhanging trees/low-flying owls.
Lezyne do a nice range of USB changed lights in various sizes/brightness levels. Been pretty happy with mine.
B&M Eyc? 🙂
I have Moon Comet's front and back on both my regular use road bikes.
Three levels of brightness, flashing option and USB rechargeable.
Kong Blinder Arc.
I've got one of the See Sense light sets.
200 lumen front and 160 rear.
about the same size as one of the small garmins but slightly deeper.
can't argue with the brightness and the whole 'gets brighter as it gets darker (I use them on day time road rides) or if a car comes up behind you' thing is pretty cool.

(This is a rebranded Moon Mask)
+1 for Lezyne.
The Micro drive or macro drive are recommended not used the Hecto drive.
+ another for Lezyne get the biggest one you can afford. Currently on a powerdrive which is very robust and batteries last well.
I put one of the smaller Leyzene ones on my cross bike as a rear light.
It bounced out of the holder and was lost the first time I took it off road - I'd use something extra to secure the lamp in the clip.
There was an issue with the Lezyne rear light brackets, it hs been sorted and a new deeper version is available. The importer sent me a post production one to tryafter my light fell off, since had a new one sent foc. Btw this was about a year ago so all in shops sjould be the new type.
I've been really impressed with my Exposure Flash and Flare. Very very bright, solid mountings that mount on and off quickly. I got the rechargeable set which came in a nice case to keep everything tidy in too when not using them. Very light and small too.
It might be a bit expensive but my commuter has a B&M Cyo and hub dynamo
I love it as it's fit and forget and it's always their and just works.
There is also a nice looking Exposure dyno lamp
Wiggle lifeline rechargeable.
Exposure's Flash and Flare can be unreliable though their size and fittings are very nice and to me, preferable to Lezyne's Micro lights.
Since 2005 I've gone from Cateye dual halogens up to a Exposure 6 Pack. Once you get a better light, you can't go back.
Use Flash and Flare for just being seen. Just had the Flash repaired under the two year warranty as there was a loose connection - posted on Saturday to USE, got it back on the Thursday and it was a Bank Holiday week as well. Quite happy with that sort of service
