Good - Alpkit

Broken bit replaced free of charge without any fuss.

Bad - Lightmalls

Broken bit will be replaced in the unlikely event that I order something else from them.

Shit - Halfords. Sent goods back to them on the 7th. No refund, and no replies to emails.

Good - Alpkit - Just bang on every time. It almost annoys me the only thing they sell that I use is the Gammas.

It's all relative. I've just had really good customer service from Halfords.

Faulty pressure washer, nearly out pf warranty period I had no receipt but shown that I purchesed a value of £99 from them using a bank statement. They swaped it for a Karcher of same value no quibbles.

Good - Evans - Price matched my Trek Madone (even though it wasn't on their "list" of companies and a good bike fitting. They didn't know everything about the components, but did try their best to find out, which is all I can really ask for.

The chap knocked 20% of everything else I bought (torque wrench) which was a nice touch.

TBD - Halfords. Snapped frame last weekend, it's only been a few days but no response yet....

Bad - Cross Country Rail (I know they're nothing to do with bikes, but they are truly truly shite)

Bad = Wife had taken her Orange Alpine back to Alpine Bikes for its first free service. They bled her brakes as part of it.

On her next ride she's riding along and suddenly realises she has no back brake. Stops and discovers the brake pads are missing. The brakes had been working so they had obviously fallen out at some point on the ride. They're Deore brakes with the split pin to retain the pads so either the split pin had never been refitted or it had been fitted without folding one or both halves of it over to stop it falling out.

She took it back to Alpine yesterday who told her that it was impossible they wouldn't have fitted the pin incorrectly or not at all and she must have hit the caliper against a branch, thus unbending the split pin and causing it to fall out...

Safe to say that's the last time Alpine bikes will be used by either of us.
