I'm a mountain biker with a road bike and I'm not bothered about having all the right roadie kit. But I hate riding on the road with an mtb lid. For some reason I notice it all the time (never do off road).

So, what's a good, cheapish roadie lid that's light and airy and unobtrusive (and might also do for the odd XC jaunt if necessary?

Taking the peak off just doesn't do it. I've got a Xen and a Hex and they just feel heavy and in the way when I'm on the road.

Guess I'd like to spend less than £50.

Giros are big and bulky and tend to sit really high on your head.

What about a lazer o2 or a kask k10?

(Just outside of budget though)

Just to add, both david taylforth and tom boonen use lazer o2 helmets.

Giro Transfer? - can be had for £25 and I'm having trouble finding a replacement that fits as well as it does.

Like my savant. Fits me well, suppose it depends if you have a giro shaped head or not.

I like my Bell Sweep - both road and mountain.

The Slant is also good and is cheaper.
