Just wondering for advice on trustworthy bike shops around the Manchester/ Wigan area. I am from northeast but living down here for a while and theirs always curtain jobs I tend to get a bike mechanic to do. Funny enough I actually have a seized headset cups that need to come of that I'd rather a mechanic do.

Only thing is I'm not one for taking expensive bikes to randomers so was wondering if anyone could recommend a few shops or solo mechanics.

Tar 😀

It's a bit further away but it's on the motorway network at the top of the M66. Ride-On in Rawtenstall is the best bike shop I've used and will continue to do so. Anthony the main mechanic is fab and Craig the owner is brilliant. I can't endorse them enough.

Northwest Mountain Bike Centre in Cheadle just off the M60. Good enough for the Syndicate crew, then good enough for me 🙂

Absolutely another vote for Ride-On in Rawtenstall. Anthony built my best summer bike and in three years of riding I haven't had to make a single adjustment apart from the usual wear items. It's a proper bike shop run by proper bikers, I am taking my new Roubaix to them this evening to get the front brake sorted out because I trust only them to do it right. The owner Craig is an interesting bloke to have a natter with but you need an exit strategy because he does love a good gas!

Another vote for Ride On.

I build my own frames (from a pile of tubes) but still use them for occasional other jobs if I don't have the tool or time. They also hold a LOT of spares in stock or get them quickly (bearings, bushes, hangers etc).

Bounce suspension in Preston are also tooled up for certain tricky fork / shock jobs.

Thanks guys, I've actually took my bike to get the headset cups out using Cheshire cycles that 100mph recommended.

Main reason behind it was due to the fact I work literally around the corner so was easy for me and they seem a great shop. I'd be happy using any of the recommendations as all great reviews

Thanks All!

Adam @ Rad Bike Shack in Bacup is a good mechanic. Really friendly, handy rider and does it all with a carbon leg!

He actually made his own foot out of a rear shock and some pivots! Quite competitively priced too.

Offended by your geography though.
