4 of us doing BPW in early July on the Sat and probably Cwmcarn on way home on a Sun. Stayed in the Prem Inn after BPW last summer and went out for a curry and beers in Merthyr - do not want to ever drink there again hence somewhere between the 2. Just the Sat night - at least one decent pub and somewhere to get decent food. Camping not an option cos one of us (not me) is too much of a princess to do that anymore 😉

Not between the two but I always stay at the Merthyr travelodge. Way better than the premier inn IMO, it’s on a leisure park thing with chain restaurants and a half-decent pub (the Dragonfly) that does 2 for 1 meals.

Just thinking about it...other than Cwmcarn, where’s good to ride for 3 hours max in general direction of the Midlands from BPW? Afan too far other way as few of us on limited time Sun...

The Stable Farm in a small town called “Pant”

its about 20 minutes from bpw. They have a cottage that you’ll pay about £27 each including a fantastic breakfast.

Its basic, sleeps about 7 people, bike can be bought into the cottage and cctv covers the cars. Great value.

Marston pub across the road:)

You need to speak to my mate Tony from Castle Lodge in Tredegar (07939992880), excellent appartments, secure bike storage (as you'd expect from another mtber), decent prices, and pretty much in the middle of BPW and Cwmcarn. Also worth visiting Molly's cafe for food if she's open when you're there. You can check it out on at Castlelodge on Facebook for pics and reviews.Oh, and right next a pub as far as I remember.

It it comes under Newbridge, here’s the telephone number. It’s comfortable, spacious and cheap, one of the best breakfasts around:)

The village htl. Cardiff fits your bill. Its at jct32 of the M4 so you'll be driving past it anyway.
