Had a look through previous threads on accommodation recommendations which are mostly aimed at groups, will either be on my own or possibly 2 of us in car so no chance of sleeping in the car, any recommendations for any of the above?

Wanting to keep costs down but will probably spend it more in eateries/drinks if you could recommend any of those as well that would be great.

Looking at late Aug early Sep when schools have hopefully restarted.

Thanks

Glentress Forest Lodges with the hotel and restaurant a couple of minutes walk away.

Don't rule out Peebles Hydro. Single rooms are £40 a head per night but includes breakfast. A twin will probably be cheaper.

From both it's a 10 minute drive to innerleithen or a cycle along the old railway path

The camping pods by the entrance to Glentress tick a box and are a short walk to the hotel on the main road or a short taxi ride into Peebles. The hotel itself has cheap rooms too.

In Peebles itself, I've stayed at the Tontine by myself, in biking groups and with the wife and I've been impressed every time. Moreso than when I've stayed at the Hydro. Cracking breakfasts too.

Only place I've ever stayed at in Innerleithen itself was Innerhaven and I don't think its going anymore (which is a shame as it was great!).
