Has anyone tried the Goldix cranks from AliExpress? They seem to be a sensible option for short cranks on youth bikes?

My 12 YO won't be putting huge torque through them but I don't want to buy total junk. Or go through bottom brackets every month if they don't fit properly.

Not heard of those, always on the lookout for kids bike stuff, got a link?

I've used samox before which have been fine, plenty of square taper options if you can stomach a BB that weighs more than the moon.

Not used the cranks, but I have a set of Gold dicks 😀 hubs which are DT clones. The centrelock thread on one was a bit tight but otherwise seem nicely made.

This site suggests the cheap goldix through axle cranks are good and actually made by Samox.

I put some on my girlfriends bike recently, as she is only 5ft tall and even 165 would be too long IMO (never mind the 170 it came with).

The bit where you can see the "cheapness" is the axle to the left hand crank interface, there wasn't any alignment key, so it was possible to put it on misaligned, and it just didn't feel like that part was well machined. But they seem ok in use. Not sure I would trust them for my 100kg+ but for her 51kg they seem sound enough.
