Am doing Edinburgh and back this weekend for a wedding and was going to go the M6. Might try and go that way on the way up but looks like it'll be the A1 coming home...

Ditto A65...

'Demolishing Nan's Nook' sounds like an ugly business all round.

Is that the bridge that a lorry hit and has been propped up for a couple of years?

The other weekend closures are only provisional in case they have problems or too windy for cranes etc. I think the intention is to have it finished in one weekend.....

Err, fourth paragraph in the linked article:

The following weekend has been identified as a contingency only – should this weekend’s planned work be postponed due to a poor weather forecast. No further carriageway closures will be required if this weekend’s work goes ahead.

it's the concrete footbridge just south of the Forton services road bridge. They should have it down in a weekend, surely...? Can't be that hard.

Some have mentioned going for a ride on the M6.. now that would be quite cool.

I passed through the affected area about 5:30. I was hoping they’d finish early and they did 😀
