Just wondering whether I'll need new chain ring bolts when I convert from 3x to 1x on the front. I'm thinking of using a Works components or Race Face narrow wide chainring.
If I need new bolts then what size and where from please?

You can file the female bit down a bit, or use a bash guard.

the onza ones are a six quid on ebay and save hassle ( and they come in pretty colours) http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Onza-Alloy-Chainring-Bolts-Single-Set-5-Gold-Red-Black-Blue-Top-quality-NEW-/251146042539?pt=UK_sportsleisure_cycling_bikeparts_SR&var=&hash=item3a79787cab

You'll need short bolts without bash guard. I've just changed to 1x10 with Works Thick/Thin chainring and Hope bash guard and have been happy with it.

+1 for washers in the parts bin. Cost me nothing.

Quick point on this. I think with a narrow wide chainring you can reverse it so that there is no countersink. Then you can use normal bolts(?)
