I'm just reviewing my commuting route home. I rode in this morning, on the road, into the teeth of an absolute bitch of a headwind! So... it looks like I'm going to have one hell of a tailwind home. Woo and Indeed Hoo! I
So.... do I go the road route home and enjoy the push. Or... OR... do I do the big climb and go over here, off road ....
Everyone here thinks I'd be mental to go up there in this. the turbines having been put there for a mighty good reason. I reckon it'll be a right laugh, as the (bloody high) wind will be behind me all the way. Especially the grind up (G)Rooley Moor Road
Whay d'ya reckon? Will I be... ahem.. blown off (fnarr fnarr)
Yes. Yes you will.
do it - you might get on the telly in one of those real-life disaster programmes...
Rachel
big ride. where is it?
Good point! I might get a ride in a helicopter. Bonus!
Paddy - Its Rooley Moor. The climb from Rochdale up to Cragg Quarry is a right drag. But I always get a headwind home. Not today!
A headwind on a morning commute will never turn into a tail wind on the return leg. that is a scientific fact based on science. fact.
do it! do it! whats the worst that could happen 😈
but they're just roads up there anyway
unless you're doing the steps of doom on the way home I wouldnt bother 😀

I agree. It is likely that the wind has changed direction due to a little thing called sods law
In my experience, a headwind one way of a ride simply becomes a headwind on the return journey as well.
I think tailwinds are a myth.
Well, at least it won't mess your hair up.
Ahh, cheers. Thought it was the peaks for a sec. Either way the wind is going...it'll be 'character building' , especially with the rain heading north 😛
You probably wont die but you'll be crying like a baby while mouthing the words why, why?.....
You need to leave work now before the wind changes direction.
You need to leave work now before the wind changes direction.
Impossible
According to the row of flags outside my window, the wind is going very much in the tailwind-all-the-way-home direction. It just needs to last a couple more hours
