Changing my orange five from 3x10 to 1 x10 I have ordered a mrp mini chain device but am wanting to change the middle ring size from the 32t that's on the bike to a 34t , do I still need to use a middle ring style chain ring or will a downhill style chainring fit my standard raceface crank, I realise I will need to change the bolts

The only difference between "a middle ring style chain ring or ... a downhill style chainring" is whether they have shifting pins and ramps or not. Obviously you don't need those shifting aids if you've only got one ring but they won't hurt if they are there.

I use a Hope 34T on my 1x10 (no shifting aids). Nice and light and seems to be lasting ok...

Weeksy - I'd buy your chainring if it's not the right size for sia20.

🙂

I use the on one stainless chainring, £15 I think? 32,33,34t on their site by look of it.
I'd pony for a seperate ring, as they're cheaper than a middleburn/xt/whatever you have now middlering and you can keep the 3x10 setup as a spare without wearing out the middle ring of it.

Hubjub shorter bolts are about a fiver.

To go half way - got a 33t renthal ring if anyone is interested?

Good condition - no chipped/hooked teeth.

Anodising worn off teeth (as expected through use) but probably sub 100 miles.

Pics on request - email in profile.

£12.50 posted?

Andy

DO the on-one rings work okay with 10 speed? It says 8 and 9 speed on the website.
