Hi guys,

First time looking for chainguide. What's the major difference? For riding XC with 100mm travel at the front which would be better?

Top guide or roller like a Blackspire stinger? Must be BB mounted as no ISCG.

Thanks

A roller only really tensions the chain. It won't keep the chain on the chainring.

I use a straightline silent guide ( top and bottom slides ) on my 1x9 bike which goes cross country....
gear shifts remain smooth as without a guide and doesn't rattle like some roller guides and it's never dropped or trapped a chain.

FYI, your not limited to ISCG designs as you can get adaptor mounts for under a tenner.
