I fancied trying one of these as a sort of 'best of both worlds' between a chesty mount and an out-front mount.

I had some good results with the out-front mount, especially on relatively slow twisty singletrack when I was really leaning the bike in and out of corners (something the chesty doesn't seem to capture as well), it looked great on screen. Just wondering if a headset top cap mount would achieve the same effect but incorporating the bars at either side to frame the shot.

I was hoping for one with a bit of rearward extension but the only one I've seen (which is co-incidentally the cheapest) looks a bit agricultural, it doesn't have the captive Go-Pro 'nut' so looks like you'd need a wee spanner every time you wanted to remove or adjust the camera?

I think I've got one you could have somewhere if you're not in a tearing hurry.

It's just vertical mind (backward shifting it would find my knees very quickly, I think that one you linked should go forward over a - ve angled stem)

Can you not just reverse your out front mount so it points backwards? Some you can position over the stem by doing that.

Yes please! Will ping you a message 👍

Ha! Good idea, hadn't thought of that 😎 Would preclude using Garmin (out front anyway) but I had already assumed I would be removing it so as not to obscure the shot, can mount it on top tube or something for navigation duties.
