Well, it was almost inevitable, wasn't it?

While I could do 99% of my riding on that too, at least 90% would be better on a different bike.

Bugger, I've just bought a SuperX CX1. I could have had a creaking BB AND SUSPENSION!

Excellent. I have one of these already, albeit with a flat bar!

Its a drop bar xc bike with less tire clearance?

TBF a lefty will be pretty good for tyre clearance...

But I'm really not sure bouncey forks for CX bikes is "Quite Right" Can't help it, discs are fine but bounce seems like it takes it too close to being an MTB...

Please tell me "Gnarmac" isn't a thing either, I don't reckon I could live in a world where that term was used without Ironic intent...

Cookeaa, but it's not a CX bike, it's a New Road bike (or gnarmac here).

Like the idea, if anyone was to do it Dale" would. Have to say it's a bit of a cracker, could see me doing a lot with the bike but then the purist in me stabs me in the neck and says "stick with a proper CX'er you wimp"
And it ends there.

Still nice bike though..

Do you know what I'm tempted. I want a bike for winter that I can basically just belt around the forest fire roads on. I was set on a cx but reckon I'll take too much of a battering after a few hours.

I like that. Would make a fun bike for general dicking around on the rougher trails I ride my CX bike on.

I always had a hankering for one of its predecessors as a do it all, fast commuter.

Matt, not mine, sadly! If only it was!

The credit for gnarmac goes to HoratioHufnagel, and he should be rightly lauded for creating the term.

Cannondale are only about 8 years behind the shed fiddlers, Tony @ Thumbrint Tuning has had a travel reduced Lefty on his CX bike for years and been going on about how good it is to anyone that would listen 🙂

Gnarmac is my new favourite word. Today.
I want credit for using gnarwhale to describe my cannondale trigger. And the bike in the op looks OK to me.

1) loved the idea… 'till I saw the bike … an update of the old headshok model would have looked better
2) this whole 650bX42mm thing that's popping up trying to be a USP… the frames take 700c wheels fine as well, I'll wager

Just remembered, there was a guy running 650b slicks on a Cotic 700c bike many years ago. Worked great.

Cannondale will probably try to trademark gnarmac.

It does look like a parts bin special, not that I've got anything against cross / road bike suspension. Drops, tyre size & maybe geometry seem to be the only differentiators from full mtb now, and even then I've been riding my cross bike with flat bars.

Who tried to persuade us “Freeroad” was a thing?
