Three of us took a morning run down across the border to try this place out today, all came away thoroughly impressed and enjoyed a cracking morning's riding.
It's very different to pretty much all the other places I've ridden - 4 short, technical trails of various difficulty, with another currently being built. I like the approach - doing it all in-house and properly from the off.
It's good already, a few more trails and it'll be great. If he gets to anything like what he's planning (and I've no reason to doubt he will), then it'll be fantastic.
15 mins drive from the centre of Carlisle and Penrith, and £8 for all you can ride in a day. Bargain.
Well worth a run if you're local-ish.
It's a great location, I was going to nip in on the way back from the lakes- ideal for a ride on the way north or south. Need to get down there and have a look
Yeah, it's still a wee bit short n sweet (plenty to keep you busy for a full day sessioning individual bits mind) but it's really good, with the potential to be pretty damn excellent in the very near future.
Hats off to the fella for quitting his job and making it happen
Yeah, for one man and a spade it's pretty amazing really. God knows he's put some hours in though. He'll have to get some help at some point though as the park grows, as being all dirt just maintaining the popular trails will become a full time job on its own!
