My winter 45north boots the tread had come off the sole.
Can anyone recommend a decent glue for gluing it back on.
E6000, brilliant stuff done a few shoes now and put plenty of miles on them post gluing.
When the tread comes off soles it's never a good ending, usually means they need resoling, guessing the other one will be close to falling off as well, as it's usually lack of use that causes it, gluing them back is pretty much a short term fix unfortunately.
Sikaflex 291 has to be the most sticky, sticky stuff I’ve ever used.. it’s brilliant and flexible to boot 😉
If the uppers are in good condition it may be worth sending off to a pro like https://lancashiresportsrepairs.co.uk/ who will do proper job with a new Vibram sole.
Contact adhesive because that's what's used to stick soles on in the first place. I've used EvoStik Impact to repair shoes and even do a full re-sole on my climbing shoes.
Stormsure will work - the soles on my rubbish Keen boots started peeling off after a couple of months and have been stuck down well since.
Been using Paistely shoe sole glue, the 'Strong' version (was on Amazon but seems to have disappeared now). Fixed various soles with it from Salomon, allstars, leather shoes, hiking, nikes...and all still intact. Used Stormsure successfully for a hole in some Aigle wellies
I'd like to find a good solution to this as f*ck me i've tried everything. Epoxy resin works well but cracks as it isn't flexible. Same with superglue. Contact adhesive just isn't strong enough, same with 'shoe glue'. They always pull apart on the inside where the ball of your foot is. Currently i'm trying to rescue a pair of Northwave winter boots that have a plastic sole and textile upper.
