My 3rd hand Giro Chambers have come apart between the sole and the spd insert, but they're otherwise fine and still very comfortable and nice to ride in. What glue is likely to be most suitable for saving them? Doesn't have to last forever, but more effective than superglue would be good.

I took my 5.10s with the same problem to Timpsons and they did for either £5 or £10, cant remember, either way they've not separated since and £10 is much better than nearly £100 for a new pair.

I'd try Shoo Goo - a good, flexible polymer adhesive.

Fun fact - it's composed of toluene, styrene-butadiene copolymer, and solvent naphtha.

Thick gungy contact adhesive like Evo-Stik is pretty good for this (and sniffing after). But I'd probably just take them to a cobblers and let them do it unless you have some suitable adhesive in the shed

Any idea on the turnaround time at Timpsons?

Had very poor results using Shoegoo on my 5:10s. (lasted less than an hour of riding). Gorilla Glue has worked much better on both the 5:10s and a pair of Salomon XA pros

You should use a decent contact adhesive.

Here's how to do it, linky
