First link doesn't work; I keep getting redirected. This forum software is pants so I haven't worked out how to copy and paste.

Don't forget car park is pay and display!!

I'd come if I had a fat bike.

Is that on a beach, on a plateau, or is it going downhill?

yea, if your coming by car/van then try and get to the carpark before 8.30 to avoid the £4.00 parking (unless you are a National trust member) 🙂

Since when does the Liverpool/Manchester area count as NW UK? It’s not even NW Englandshire. I was hoping it would be something like Arisaig/Mallaig area

I'm going into a disused Welsh slate mine, and don't have a gravel bike so I'll miss the "fun".

Far too far south for me.  That's only just above the equator, isn't it..?

By chance I'm in Formby this weekend anyway. My tyres are too skinny to join in, but I'll be walking the pup down there as per normal, so will give you all a wave.

If we're thinking the same 'parking bay on the right' then there's often horse boxes parked up and horses coming and going from there of a weekend morning so, without wishing to patronise, be nice! 🙂

And 9am you say? Looks like you timed that well …

Maybe I'm being slow and have missed it; what's the plan apart from meeting at the car park for 9am? Different activities, a group ride until [when], or just meet up and work it out on the day?

See you in the morning. Looks like the weather will take a little longer to clear than the earlier forecast predicted.

It wasn't too bad in the woods.

Then having spent an hour or so in the cafe it had cleared up for the return back along the beach to the car park.

A good day out, we've not ridden at Formby before, thanks to Lawmanmx for organising and leading us round the place.

So this evening, me to my kid nephew: Did you have a good day at work today?

Him: It was alright but we were really busy. About 50 soaking wet mountain bikers turned up and wanted scrambled egg.

Me: On fat bikes?

Him: Dunno, they were these weird bikes with really wide tyres …
