You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Been trying to get some info from the organisers but having no luck.
All I want to know is how much of the forest away from the XC course will be accessible during the race week, but emails are being ignored! Nothing on the usual Council website regarding access right suspensions yet, or on the 7 Stanes site.
Anybody on here have any direct contacts who might be able to answer?

Cheers- thats the first one I tried- no reply. Also tried the hello2023 main contact and nothing.
My understanding is that most of the rest of the forest will be open as normal (excluding the long term closures for storm damage on the black, and other works for the cabin complex). But I expect stuff like Careless Whisper round towards Zorro will likely be fine, and most of the blue and red routes too.
I think all finishing trails down Falla Brae (that's Blue, Red and Black) will be shut - they might be already. And worth noting the new trails are not open and won't be opening to the public until sometime after the WC.
The only other point to mention is the Marathon course. This takes in trails in Innerleithen (Traquair), Yair, Elibank, Caberston and Glentress. I imagine there will be closures on a variety of trails for the day of the race (6 Aug) and possibly a day or two before hand for taping etc. At GT, this will mean pretty much the whole Black route and a couple of off-piste trails too. I think ESO have a Section 11(?) in place so they can legally close trails in accordance with the outdoor access code. I'm presuming after the Marathon, these will all be re-opened as normal, again except for the trails down Falla Brae towards where the main XCC and XCO courses are.
Make of that what you will, but during the week from Mon 7th onwards, I think most GT trails away from Falla Brae will be open.
Cheers!
Hopefully wont affect things too much!
There may be larger closures until after the event to restrict public access, as I think there's a larger closure than a typical section <whatever> in place, due to the event being ticketed access.
A section <I should really know the number!> only suspends public access, but is pretty specific in it's scope. IIRC it can only cover a blanket area for a max of 5 days, or specific trails for 7 days.
mc - I assume you mean a Section 11 Order? I thought it was "easy" for the council to do for 5 days, but still possible if it lasted longer than that but with more hoops and public notice required etc.
Well, I got an answer from the Visit Scotland team...
Unfortunately it was a link to the road race route, rather than what I actually asked for and took nearly a week to appear.
Nothing from the ESO contact that was sent in the residents letter.
