I am organising a trip up North for about 5 of us. We don't mind driving a bit to the trail centres but the accommodation needs to be close to a pub and cheap! Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

thanks

I stayed here http://www.bunk-house.co.uk/ it's a taxi ride into Peebles but was about £7 so between five of you, it's not a lot plus it's really close to Glentress.

i stayed at the glentress hotel last time i was up there. it cost us £28 per night for bed and breakfast. We ate in the restaurant too which was excellent and the bar was well stocked and reasonably priced. Given its proximity to the trails i dont think there is a better option.
