I've got time to kill in November when travelling from Aberdeen over to Aviemore. I'll be heading past Glenlivet so thought about swinging in for some riding. How much is there to keep you amused? I have heard the trails are good but not sure how many there are in terms of distance/time. I'll probably have about 3 hours of rising time available to me.
I was over there recently. Nice flows trails. I did the blue as a warm up then the big red. The big red is a cracker nice climb to get to the top then a long flowy descent quite fast near the bottom. The new Bazzas Berms trail down the bottom end is great fun too. It took us about 3 hours just to do that lot once. You could easily spend the whole day there. The cafe is excellent too.
I'm not the fittest but the red takes me about an hour 50 to get round which is a big chunk of your time. Theres some new trails been added but ive not been over there for a while so not sure how or where they are. The Blue is ok but I do enjoy the last bit which takes you back to the cafe and you can goto the tail end of the blue by heading up to the orange. The mini downhill and Bazzas Berms are both fun. As for the orange I cant jump but its a really nice trail as well.
The Cafe is excellent but is only open Thursday to Monday at this time of year i think
The newer trails - glenduro, daimh hard, grey area are worth a ride, they do bypass a lot of the red trail but depends what you're after.
In 3 hours youd manage to get up to top of red, do daimh hard, grey area, then back up to the top, glenduro, do the rest of the red and blue, bazzas berms, mini DH, but then you'd not have much time left for haggis nachos at the cafe
