Just booked the macavalnche for may next year

Anyone got any recommendations for a ride to do the next day. I might be knackered after the race and will be driving back to Yorkshire later in the day so will need to keep it to a couple of hours

Is the ciaran path kinlochleven route from mbr good? Think I might have done some of the initial climb as part of the tour de Ben Nevis

Cheers

James

There's better riding around kinlochleven than the ciaran path, check trailforks and Strava for the stages from last weekend's enduro.

As fun as the macavalanche is you won't be knackered. Think I totaled about 25 minutes actual riding time this year so definitely plan other riding if your making a long trip.

I didn't think The Ciaran Path was "all that" when I did it in 2011..but that's because it nearly killed me..after 4 days of hard riding we totally underestimated the route we took and I bonked big time ..with no food or water left and was finding it hard to concentrate on the trail ..making mistake after mistake prior to even getting there .
I came off near the top ..otb and tumbling down through the trees towards the ravine on the left hand side only a rotting tree stump stopped my progress .
We got back into Kinlochleven at 9.55pm and had a drive back to Northumberland to follow ..sharing the driving ..but we both admitted some time afterwards that we had each nodded off while driving ..we eventually got home just before 4.00am ..my mate 20 mins later ..
Vowed to go back one day ..but haven't yet !
