Do they need replacing or can they be de-glazed any way?
Sand paper?
Probably Emery Cloth or Wet and Dry for stainless.
However, it's the pads that get's glazed isn't it??
Sandpaper for steel, I know some brakes can feel a bit wooden but...?
Wet and dry and some soapy water.
Tthew Says discs.
The evidence of the glazing is visual and audible, theyre very squealy even with new pads fitted
How is it visible? Only time I've ever seen discs look anything other than their natural colour, they have been blue'd through getting bastard hot on long/fast descents.
Glazed discs? - what the hell does that mean? - are they not just a bit oily?
Your discs can't get glazed; they get polished and go shiny. This is a good thing because the pads are designed to work best with smooth shiny discs.
If you're getting a squawk and juddering just as the wheel stops turning, your pads are contaminated with oil. Put them in the dishwasher and clean the discs with alcohol or glass cleaner.

This.
I was gonna say I've never heard of glazed discs. Glazed pads, yes. Discs? Nope.
Glazed discs sounds like something a dodgy bike shop would tell you just to sell you some new brakes.
