Is Cocklet Hill Car Park on the edge of Gisburn still free, or is there a charge there now to make you use the newer trail head car park?

If you are too tight to support the facilities you can always park at tosside and ignore the request for payment.

It’s £3 or whatever. It’s a bargain and it gets reinvested in the trails

However the machines are often out of order.

I went on New Years Day and parked in the main car park, it is only £3 which goes towards all the maintance, also have benefit of the toilet facilities which are also free
