Picked up my new Xar the other day. Fit is superb, the new rocloc is very well designed. But.....

It's showing every slight brush as a greying scuff mark, even as far as fingerprints showing as grey scuff marks? Tried to clean them off, but it's as if there's damage below the outer shell.

Anyone else seen this?

You got the white/grey version? A few marks yes, but they clean off fine. Only had it for 2 weeks mind...

I was planning on getting an orange one soon - might wait and see how this feedback develops.....

Sorry, should have said, mines the black. Marks certainly aren't 'cleaning off'....

I think perhaps so. Was just wondering if it was a lone case, as the rest oof the helmet is superb.

Not yet, Ian. Need to speak to my LBS when I get a moment. Will get back on here once I have done.

It's not getting any better, though. 🙁

Al, having worn an Exodus and then an E2, it's not. But thanks for your valuable input.

No problems with a white/grey one; and I agree, it's a very good lid.

I've got one and love it - only just got it last week though so can't really help but I haven't noticed any premature marks so far (neon green)

Erm, I assume you're trolling - it's no more like the Exodus than the Xen it's (sort of) replacing.

OT question, how is fit on these compared to a Specialised S1 ?. I've always had Spesh helmets, they've always been a perfect fit. I'm looking to replace my S1. I tried the current s-works equivalent in the LBS recently & really didn't like the new webbing based fitting system (i hated it), so i'm looking for an alternative.

(And yes I know i should get to a shop to try one 😉

I've got the orange one since a few weeks. I've used it a lot and there are no marks. Even dropped it a few times as I am a bit clumsy but didn't seem to mark it at all.

Thread resurrection as some were waiting to hear more.

Original has been replaced by Madison via my excellent LBS. Madison saw photos and said basically, "Oh, that's not right. Here's a replacement".

Will see how the replacement goes, looks OK so far, but good to have had quality service from the folks at Madison.

Try and get hold of a 2D rather than a Prevail, I personally find the former significantly more comfy, although I'd say both are far superior to the S1!

Matt black Hex here. Expected it to show every mark, but surprised its stayed nice. And ditto the new roc-loc system, it is excellent.
