So, whats your predictions today? I reckon Dumoulin could take 3 minutes out of Yates today, and Froome probably a couple as well. Would set the last few stages up very nicely for ding dong in the mountains still to come if Yates is within 45 seconds or so of the lead by the end of the day.

Dunno, but not happy with trek using a T5 to tow Peterson around 🤷‍♂️

Got the splits and finish times in a second window here, what time for the big guns?

I fully expect Dumoulin to win and maybe in the low 39 mins. Yates will get in under 42mins so he'll keep the lead by 10-20 seconds or so. Svein Tuft was reporting a tailwind earlier which is good news for Yates. Will be a great last week and hopefully Yates has enough left in the tank.

I think it is interesting how this TT has completely shaped the whole of the race, so often riders like Froome know they can TT well so i they are in the leaders jersey, there riding is often Defensive.

Whereas Yates knowing he is that bit slower on TT bike has gone all out in the opening weeks to get that buffer of time making it more exciting, i'm really enjoying this Giro i must admit.

I think someone said that we are 2/3rds of the way through the race, but only 1/3 of the total ascending has been done so far, so if Froome/ Dumoulin do take a lot of time out of Yates, then he has to really fight in those future climbing stages and that again should make for some great racing.

Yates is surprisingly good in a TT - not really surprising why looking at his power figures on the Zoncolan(?) the other day. Dumoulin is likely to make a lot of time on him, but if Yates has a good day it might not be much more than a minute. Bad day, it could be massive. Very hard to predict.

Dumoulin 1st.

Froome 2nd (or 22nd).

Yates in top 20.

That's my prediction.

Rather surprising isn't it? Has he ever done such a good time trial in his life, when he doesn't seem to have any decent form and 2 days after blowing up completely!
