I've entered a triathlon and need a helmet (something to do with liability I assume).
This looks like the least obtrusive (and I'm sure it'll offer just as much protection as all the others that weigh half as much again):

Anyhow, according to my site helmet, my head measures at 58.5cm, which is on the border between a medium and a large, so does anyone know how they measure up in real life compared to say a Met?

Another question, which colour is safest? I assume white as it's more visable. But black looks cooler, so which to choose?

Helmet evangelists to the thread please! It's been 34 minutes already, or do you just come to write abuse?

You must try it on. Its pointless to buy a helmet with trying it for size. Never buy one mail order

I wear a large Giro summit or other MTB helmet and got a large Prolight, if you;re between sizes I'd go for the bigger one as there is a bit of adjustment in them and you get thicker pads too.

A smaller shell protects better - if you have an overlarge shell and use pads / cradle to take up slack you are losing a lot of the effectiveness

The "empty" quarter of the world's largest sand desert. Riding out here is a commitment involving at least an hour and a half drive.

Ah - Ill let you off with a mail order helmet then. I'd go for the smaller of the two possible sizes

i have a white medium and it's on largest of the three modest adjustments. I found the cradle of the large sat on my ears and was not comfortable.

It's a great helmet, but you really need to try it to be sure.

I've worn various different models of large Giros for years, so I thought I would be fine with a large Prolight, but I found that it was too small and sat really high at the back of my head. Just seemed a very strange fit compared to the usual Giro standard.
