Now, I am a father of 2 with one on the way. My testosterone levels decimated my hairline at 20 years old. I have a hairy chest and can bench around 120kg. But I love a good G&T. What's wrong with me? And don't even get me started on Hendricks with a slice of cucumber!

Don't worry about it dood, I'm the fella that Bear Grylls looks up to and I like a G&T.

I say that as a man who has been known to quaff the odd G'n'T himself.

G&T FTW. Even better with a dash of Angustura bitters.

(Mmmmm pink gin)

I was at a Gin tasting a few weeks ago... Get the right Gin and you can ditch the tonic and hence feel like a proper man.

Ah good I feel like I can finally come out- I too like a nice refreshing G&T or better still in a nightclub a Gin and Bitter Lemon as it flouresces under UV lights-great when you are that bladdered things like that amuse you. 😆

Ice cold gin, ice, lime and a dash of ice cold tonic. Job done.

G&T should feature as little T as possible IMHO.

Edit: In the spirit of this thread I would like to attest to the hairyness of my ass at this point.

you benders

Odd that YOU we're the first one to bring questions of sexuality into the equation. You should read some of Freud's work, perhaps over a G&T. 😉

Hmm, have some mini Bombay Sapphires that need polishing off. Might have to start tonight.

Nowt wrong with a G&T. My ex used to steam through a triple every day immediately after work, with tonic from our Soda Stream I kid you not.

My mother seems to live on the stuff though, the first time I saw that Aldi advert for tea I cracked up it reminded me so much of her.

BTW, since I was a teenager, my 3 favourite smells have been tea bags, chicken gravy and G&T. Odd?

Parma violets, Marmite and Two pack wood filler in no particular order. Favourite one hit taste has to be fresh coriander. Just saying.

The smell of creosote still gives me an instant erection. No idea why.

What's wrong with me?

You are overly concerned with other people's opinions of you, are perhaps insecure in your sexuality, and feel compelled to behave according to outdated gender stereotypes.

😉

If it helps you feel more butch, try making yourself a huge G&T in a pint glass. I usually do this late Xmas morning, as I know I'll be busy for the next couple of hours welcoming visitors, getting their drinks, helping with lunch etc etc. Nice to know I've always got a stiff drink nearby, as the entire family descends on me.

I use a straight glass for this, but no reason why it wouldn't work in a jar if it helps you feel more manly. 😛

Tonic fluoresces as well - it's due to the quinine.

I have a g n' t every night when I get home from work.

My rules;
Good things: Hendricks (with cucumber natch), Fever Tree tonic, Schweppes tonic, Lime
Bad things: Lemon, tonic that's not properly chilled, supermarket own brand tonic
Things that should be removed off the face of the earth: Slimline tonic

In the interests of science and my fellow STWorlders I have just poured myself a G&T. Having used the old bottle of tonic that lingered at the back of the fridge I can now confirm that the bubbles are pretty essential to my enjoyment of a G&T.

Fear not though I shall gag it back.

Hendricks or Bombay Saphire in the Bouy household.

Seems fine to me. (And i have a million left on million drop live still with 1 question to go. Even if it is the easycleb special)

Good chunk of cucumber muddled with lime juice. Shake with 50ml of Hendricks, soda water, crushed ice and bruised mint. Incredibly refreshing.

I'm 46 and had my first ever G&T last night after a curry, with ice & slice.

Closely followed by a second.

I have to say I rather liked it. 😀

Mind you, I do work in IT.....

Having been disappointed by my flat tonic (see above) I've just had a G&T inspired by the mojito post of umop3pisdn. Gin and tonic plus a couple of crushed mint leaves. A very nice addition to a classic drink.

Gin and tonic, lovely but may I suggest a martini - Tanqueray 10, a hint of vermouth and a little dirty, drink six, fall over.

Never quite understood the snobbery that surrounds the G&T.
Here in the Basque Country it´s the drink of choice at the weekend regardless of age or wealth.

By far the nicest I´ve ever had includes the following:

G´Vine Gin
Fentimans Botanical Tonic
Slice of Lime

100ml Bombay Sapphire.
400ml slimline Tonic.
Splash of Angastura Bitters.
3 wedges Frozen Lemon
2 Wedges Frozen Lime.
4 Ice Cubes.
Pint Glass.

Sorted.

[deep male voice]Following macho winter ice climbing epic days in Scotland, we always finished the days off with large G&T's, Millers Westbourne strength & Fever Tree tonic (or Tanqueray/Bombay/Schweppes from Fort William Safeways if no one brought the quality stuff).[/deep male voice]

Gin and tonic. Brothers ruin so it seems. A mans drink in a very metrosexual world. I'm off to moisturise now.
