£300 from Je james any opinions, looking at getting a new xc frame and putting all my new parts of my 91 Rochopper onto it.
Really like the look of the XTC frame but any other recommendations?
I read a review that said that they had quite a harsh ride and not therefore best suited for many hours in the saddle. That said, the review was positive. Think I saw it on bike radar.
Kinesis Maxlight XC is a very capable and versatile frame - nice compliant ride but still very responsive.
Wiggle and others were selling 2008 Kona Kula frames for less than £300 albeit they were the stock Kona 7005 and not the Easton Ultralight tubing.
Giant does look nice though
I have a 06 XTC frame,
well made, and is very light,
it does have a stiff rear end, which does chuck you about a bit,
but has a real direct power transfer feel to it,
and in that way it is most definitely an XC frame in the proper sense,
I like it!
not sure what the newer frames are like but look similar in design
the merlin malt 4 kinesis frame is light and 40% off at the moment so £240,
looks a bargain,
