General trail riding - looks reasonable spec for £1100
I know there's the Boardman Pro FS in the same price bracket.
Any other deals around?
I've checked Paul's and Winstanleys
What you got?

Vitus escarpe? Marin (hawk hill?)

I dont know the stance. Like the anthem. But if you look at eBay they plummet in value I'd buy one second hand.

When I was looking I ended up buying a discounted Anthem

Stance doesn't have the maestro suspension like the Anthem & Trance.
It uses some of the engineered flex in the rear stays - there were some issues with the earlier ones cracking.

I'd probably look at the Boardman or Vitus for that money. If you're a British Cycling member you get 10% off at Halfords/Cycle Republic and Chain Reaction.

Anthem 😛 very versatile bike, does everything well except big air.

I considered a Stance. Then bought an Anthem (discounted from Paul's) and upped the fork travel on the Reba's to 120mm. The trance might have 120 on the rear compared to the 100 on the Anthem but the maestro suspension system more than makes up for it IMHO, climbing traction seemed a noticeable difference.

When I bought a year it so ago I decided against the stance due to the flex required in the rear triangle as it's effectively missing a pivot to save on costs. The fork also was low rent for the riding I do vs Boardman pro fs (which at the time had RBS revelations). Given the pro fs now has pikes on it there's likely even more of a difference.

Looking past the brand name I'd have the Boardman pro fs over a giant stance ever day of the week.
