Hi all

I'm thinking about some new road wheels, for no other reason than to buy something nice(!). No racing, just 50+ mile lake district rides with lots of hills. I'm also booked in to do the 150mile coast to coast in a day in June. The bike is a Cube Agree GTC (£1200 carbon bike) which has Easton wheels which seem a bit flexy. I'm 82kg and the road surfaces around here are not the best. With all that in mind, a few questions for the more expereinced folks:
1) How much difference will a decent wheelset make (and how decent do they need to be)?
2) Are the Giant P-SLR1 wheels here for nearly half price worth a look?
3) What other options would you consider- factory wheelsets like SHimano RS-80's, handbuilt wheels- which ones?

I'd keep the current wheels for grimy/winter/day to day rides.

Thanks all!

I have these cheaper ones:

which are fine so would be happy to go for the pricier ones - the current Giant wheels are getting good reviews.

I was thinking of getting some Velocity A23 or IRD Aero 30mm wheels built up here though:

I have them on my bike. I'm 90kg and I haven't noticed flex yet. I think they're made by DT Swiss?

Hubs are dt star ratchet based (very good) and they are pretty light (also good). And you are buggered if you snap a spoke as they are proprietary and Giant uk don't carry spares (not good).
