Yoann runs around 30 percent sag on the back, if I remember correctly the 425lb to 450lb springs that he uses would give him 27-30 percent sag based on his weight. I did the calculation a while back though, so I can't remember.

The trick with the Reign is to have a progressive compression shim stack tune, so the compression hardens up deeper into the travel.

Just set your shock up like a really fast Pro rider, that will be exactly how you want it 😉

Trust me I've had a world champs winning fork in my hands and me (as a mere mortal) would not want anywhere near those settings. Don't just copy someone you need to think about what you want it to do/feel like.

Yeah, he had it tuned progressively.

Wiggles, good point, but the Reign can be a little soggy on the rear due to the leverage ratio. My advice, get a coil, ride it - get it tuned if you don't like something about it, or get a Fox RC4 with a bottom out adjuster.

I didn't mean to criticize your advice obviously the kinematics of the frame are important to work this out and you are correct in what you said. I mean you need to know what you want as an individual rather than going "I want an EWS top 10 racer set-up please"

Also be aware that having you shock tuned usually requires you asking for specific traits/changes rather than just asking for a tune for certain bike as the person doing it won't know the leverage curve of every bike available....

Precisely wiggles, get a stock shock, ride it - if there is anything specific you dislike - start noting your thoughts down and have specific changes made.

I'll probably be putting a coil on my Reign....

I DO HAVE CURRENTLY FOX RC4 ON MY REIGN WITH 450 LB COIL WHICH GIVES ME 29% SAG CURRENTLY ( standing on pedals). THE BIKE FEELS VERY PLUSH , ALTHOUGH I WILL TRY 500 COIL AND DECIDE THEN , AS UPHILLS ARE RATHER PAINFULL AFTER 2 HOURS OF RIDING. the shock has unknown shimstack setup as i purchased it from ebay about 6 months ago. i see that to bottom out reign it takes 1600N which is rather conservative leverage design compared to 2500N+ like on patrol or capra.. i will probably adjust bottom out adjuster if i am not happy with stiffer coil
ahh sorry for caps..
