Toying with the idea of a Giant Stance E+2 with a 650 battery. Any reason why this might be a bad idea?

I would check out the thread for Giant on the EMTB forum, as theres a lot more info on that particular brand.

NOTE- You'll find horror stories for every bike, but its not the rule, as many have no issues and can be putting thousands of km on them without issue. but still wise to take note.

Don't do it!... Buy a trance-e instead, the stance has a lower powered motor in comparison. (may or may not make a difference for you)

Mine is soo much fun😉

I've got a 2020 ereign, it's lasted 2 years fine, motor is good without any drama, battery is pretty much industry standard, frame and kit are fine as well.

Only real annoying thing about mine is removing the shock, they have some weird spacer configuration to fit it to the frame, which means you need 4 hands to remount the damn thing without losing a finger, but it only comes off for servicing, so not really that much hassle.

Not familiar with the Stance, but there were particularly bad horror stories about Giants with Yamaha motors, which had a circuit board at the base of the motor - when water got in, the circuit board was submerged in water and you got the below. Newer Yamahas are redesigned, not sure what version your Stance has.

My commuter has that Yamaha system and the battery is a nightmare. It was constantly turning off, I fixed the problem by packing the battery compartment with bits of foam floor tile. This reduced the turn offs to once every 20miles instead of every four miles. No matter how carefully I adjusted the battery retainer, it still played up.
My mate has just bought the decathlon full suss, it’s ace, he’s really pleased with it, maybe check it out.
