so the d-fuse post on my defy is 7mm only, i guess i could get a Berk, but is there anyway of swapping out parts of the clamp so i can use what i already have or a regular carbon railed saddle?
if not, whats the best options? currently on a Fizik Antares 00
If you have the d-fuse with the side bolt clamp head (found on the carbon bikes) you can swap out the head parts. I did this on my 2015 defy advanced pro to install S work carbon rail toupe saddle.
The parts are black or silver denoting metallic rail or carbon rail compatible, your giant dealer can supply
Is 7mm the standard for most saddles ?
If you have the d-fuse with the side bolt clamp head
i do,
i guess i get the guts off Giant?
@iainc ... 7mm round for metal rails, 7x9 or 7x10 for carbon ... generally
^^^ thanks for that, often wondered !
its the silver clamp parts you want. here is what I had for my toupe carbon saddle on my Defy last year
make sure to liberally coat the clamp parts in carbon assembly paste and set the bolt with a torque wrench as the design has a tendency to slip if you hit a pothole which can cause a "clunk" and change of saddle angle!
is the pink ribbon for added speed ? 🙂
its the silver clamp parts you want
ordered them yesterday, cheers
