I have been riding mine fixed for a few years now but last night thought I'd let it off its leash and flip the hub around to the freewheel version.

This is the first time I have noticed the handling characteristics are a bit strange.

Put any serious power down and the rear end squirms about alarmingly (back tyre is plenty hard enough).

Cornering, it steers like a barge yet feels like the front wheel wants to tuck under all the time. Net result = cornering very, very slowly. I have put a shorter stem on in the past as it was just too long for me.

In a straight line it is fantastic.

Does anyone else have one of these bikes and if so, what are your thoughts about handling? It may just be the way I have set it up.
