As this years "x1" model is available in the sale for £1600 I'm very tempted, especially as its mostly fox, xt and slx components. The only thing I would upgrade is the stock wheels.
Does anyone have one and what kind of weight do they come out as? I've currently got a 26" anthem x1 which is full xt and quite light at just over 25lbs but fancy a 29er.
I've got one in medium, it weighed just shy of 12kg in the shop without pedals, fitted M540's, changed the wheels for Crests on Pro II Evo SP's and it then weighed 11.4kg all in
Cheers, its lighter than I thought.
Great bike by the way - very capable. Just bought some 120mm forks for mine to release a bit more gnarr 🙂
My mate did exactly the same, he's more gnar than me though
I have an Anthem X 29 4 which I've modified extensively - and now sports 1x10, reba RLT's and hope/crest wheels.
I've not gone crazy light on parts, but it feels light to ride and goes like stink. Brilliantly capable bikes.
Mine is a 2013 X1 and it is just above the 26lb mark. One of the best bikes I've ever owned.
Yeah,
Great bikes.
Bought a frame in 2012,smattering of XT,Stans,Hope wheels,Fox suspension.
Built up bout 26 lbs.
Recently gone 120mm fork,Reynolds carbon wheels,1 x 10 and dropper.
Bit over 26lbs but still pretty light and hugely capable.
Thanx,
Max
Gonna get a dropper for mine I think.
Decisions, decisions. Pity the seconhand market for 26" has gibe through the floor as I probably wont get much for my anthem x1 26"!!
