Hi
Recently purchased one of these second hand and it has a 100mm fork.
Apparently there is a spacer in mine so I'm having that removed to make it 110mm.
I've read that they ride nicely (if not better) with longer forks and 120mm regularly quoted.
Anyone like to share their experiences?
Anyone run a longer fork than this without taking away it's intrinsic xc ability? Not looking to make it extreme just improving its capability if possible.
Cheers
Steve
Morning,
I ran mine with a 120mm RS Rev and it rode great (preferred it to 100mm). Still climbed really well but bit more stable on the way down.
If I still had it I'd chuck a slack headset and keep the 120. Much more fun!

120mm Reba on mine and much better. However, it still makes the HA 70 degrees, and I'd like it to match my HT which feels much more fun/stable at 68.5 degrees. I suspect shorter chain stays etc help also...
...so I'm not investing any more money in my Anthem pending a new modern geomatry bike purchase this time next year.
i went a little more extreme with mine. I found the fox float 100mm fork (2013) blew through its travel too easily so searched for something else.
Got 140mm revs second hand on here, and a 150mm dropper. I've put a -2 slack set in and an offset bush. The saddle is slammed forward to keep the seat angle good for climbing. With a 70mm stem it fits perfectly.
It's an absolute hoot to ride. The head angle I have measured at 67 degrees. It descends so much better, climbs as well as it did before but I'm no racing snake so it has never climbed particularly quickly. I can ride more aggressively than I used to and fall off less 😳
Hi
Thanks for the input.
I've put a dropper on mine with 750 bars and 50mm stem (it came with 700bars/100stem) although it was quite twitchy so I may swap to 70mm stem.
Next up is some more aggressive tyres as it has Bontrager XR2 on now which I don't like at all.
Interesting comments about the 140 fork but I think that may be taking it too far for what I want. As I said I don't want to take away it's xc ability-I already have longer travel trail bikes.
I'll try it at 110mm then see where it goes
Cheers

The one I've just sold was at it's best with a 120mm Reba RLT and -2 degree angleset. With this it measured 68 degree HA.
Just before I sold it I swapped the Rebas for some 100mm Sektors that had come with another bike and the difference was quite dramatic.
Incredibly capable bikes that are made so much better with 3 degrees less HA and IMO no downsides.
Sounds like I'm regretting the change but I snapped up a bargain Kona Hei Hei Race which now has the 120mm Rebas fitted and this one's even better - more "modern" geometry (longer reach, top tube and shorter chain stays) but with the same, thanks to the longer fork, HA. This one's even quicker than the Anthem 8)
I miss my Anthem!
