Anyone had success with this combo?
(I use NN front RR rear or NN front and back in winter.)
Do I need to build up the rim well first with foam tape and insulation tape or does the ghetto strip go srtaight in against the rim bed?

i used a whole roll per rim of stans spoke tape and a 17mm road velox (not sure on spelling?) rim tape to build it up enough to inflate.

I have a NN on a 717 with nothing more than a couple of turns of insulating tape in the rim well

went up first time & has stayed up for the last 6 months or so

Would same principle apply though, regardless of Stans or Ghetto?
Have heard that some use 1 layer of self adhesive foam tape form Maplins and a lyer or 2 of insultion tape to build out the rim.Not sure if this applies to Nobby Nics/Ralphs?

Or do I just leave the existing rim tape in?

I Just used 2 layers of stans tape, and then the notubes rimstrip. Fitted perfectly with NN/RR and no problems since.

i just left rim tape on with my bmx tube in with racing ralph on mavic 321. Which incidently work better than both my dt and stans setups
