I am rebuilding my old 2007 Clockwork but am now a tubeless convert. I'm pretty sure that I can convert the rims with some tape (DT Swiss E540) but want to know if anyone has had any success sealing the following non-tubeless tyres or continentals in general (all 26er)?
Mountain king I 2.4 protection
Speed king 2.3
Mountain king 2.2 protection
Thanks!

Ive managed mountain king and xking in 29er protection but it took bloody ages, loads of goo, they do seal though. Scrub the inside with stans first seems to help.
The conti website has some good tips

I've got some 2.2 Trailkings. Absolute bitch to seal. They seat fine. But sealing them is testing my patience.

XKing protection went up first time on Velocity Blunt SS. Wept a bit of fluid but we're fine.

Clean the inside with IPA first (not the drink!)

I even find tubeless contis foam sealant out of the side wall on first attempt...

2.2 Trail Kings were swines to seat on my rims, it took many, many wraps of electric tape before they'd seal. Once they did seal they were fine, though.

I think I've managed all of them. As above really, they have porous side walls so a good dose of extra sealant on the first go. Then spin them on the sides to fully coat the inside of the tyre once inflated.

You need a massive volume of air to get tyres to seat. If you have a big enough a reservoir (receiver?) then most things will go up and seal - just for how long?

I don't think I managed mine with a simple track pump. I used a 5L garden spray in a ghetto tubeless inflator (google it or buy an airshot).

I find rubber rim strips (ghetto or bought) the best solution as they make getting the initial seal easier.

The Protection version is the tubeless ready version. I have used Race King, X King and Mountain King in Protection versions and all have been fine. Took a few weeks before they stayed up for long periods
