I think I want to give ghetto tubeless a go, using mavic 223 rims and maxxis advantage UST tyres. Anyone tried this combination? Also, is the 20" inner tube or the 'gorilla' tape method likely to be best?
Thanks
I used the gorilla tape method and it failed after about 20 rides - think better tape (I used gaffa tape) would have worked better. The 20" method seems to last the distance once you get them pumped up.
A good track pump helped me out no end (and a Compressor is much better)
I used a bmx tube with removable core. Split it in the middle put it on the rim fitted tyre stuck in some stans fluid pumped up with track pump then trimmed off the excess tube with a scalpel job done. Holds air better than my proper stans set up.
That's with mavic xm321 and maxxis advantage tyres

Scwalbe BMX tubes have a removable core, so they're the easiest. I did it with High Roller LUST tyres and it was a doddle. Youtube has some good videos on how to do it.
I have done the Getto on my 717's and it was a pain in the butt with Kenda nevagels / blue grooves and schwable NN and RR none tubeless tyres
But using a set of specialized tubeless ready tyres they inlated a piece of pea
You should be ok with the LUST tyres
Sounds like the little inner tube is the way to go, cheers
