Iv managed to get my back wheel sorted no trouble at all so im thinking the front should be as easy but its not... 🙁
Its only leaking around the valve what can you recommend, i have stans in but thats not doing it. Iv tried some patch glue to stick the valve to the gorilla tape and tried to tighten the locking nut as tight as i can by hand. Any other ideas? I cant hear or feel any air at the mo so im hoping thats got it but i suspect im preparing for the worst and it goes down again, let me know if you have had this issue and if u fixed it without having to buy new wheels
Best thing you can do with any tubeless set-up is go for a ride. That will get some juice into all the nooks and crannies 🙂
put an extra piece of gorrila tape over the valve hole, then puncture a hole through it, tighten up the ring with a pair of long nose pliers. stick your jizz in and blow it up 😕 😆
Pump up to 40psi or thereabouts. Leave for a while. let a bit of air out to get to riding pressure, go for a ride. It might take a couple of rides for everything to get sealed.
I did one the other night - went up first time and held air no problem. The previous tyre, exact same model, took over a week to get it to hold air and was a right pain to get to seat.
I've found putting a small O-ring under the valve nut helps. I now have a giant box of assorted O-rings from Screwfix for this purpose.
Good call, iv pumped it twice to 40psi and at the mo its staying up. Iv given it a bit of a ride round, il check it again in the morning but fingers crossed
How tight is the lock ring around the valve?
It might be nothing to do with the valve. Any air that escapes into the rim cavity will tend to exit there.
Save yourself a shed load of hassle & use a split BMX tube.
Its a bloomin doddle.
If your a lazy get like me you can even leave the excess tube in place & call it a rim proteceur.
