I've had lots of success with the split Bmx tube ghetto method.
I also have a pair of ust wheels which have been every bit as good

TBH I think the tyres are more of a factor.

Decent tyres make all the difference.

Have used it with panaracer firexc and maxxis high roller with no problems.

Tried it with various combinations of mavic and stans rims, with schwalbe, maxxis, bontrager and kenda tyres, with rim strips and yellow tape... and it's never failed to do the job. Works a treat.

mixed success here - i've found i need quite high pressures to stop 'burping' all the air out.

it's a chuffing nightmare WHEN you do get a flat though...

(it'll be cold, and raining. You'll have no end of fun trying to get the tyre off, and clean, and de-thorned, so you can start again with a tube. Your friends will get cold and bored, and leave you to the wolves)

This may be true 😳

Only happened the once in a good couple of years of running tubeless, and I've now got a tubeless repair kit kit for next time it happens. Didn't have any problems with the Mud X's burping on Stan's crest rims at about 25psi.
